About The Best of Thymes

The Best of Thymes is basically my cooking journal. Cooking is therapeutic for me–it’s my chance to process the day, think through an issue or just ruminate about life. It’s also one of my creative outlets. Much of the recipes I share here are my own concoction, mashed together from recipes I’ve previously cooked. Or, they’re from trusted sources, adapted to fit my lifestyle and what’s in my pantry.
What you’ll read on The Best of Thymes is a glimpse of how I cook and my random musings as I crack the eggs, dice the onions and saute the zucchini.
I’m mostly self-trained (my mom tried to teach me to cook when I was in high school, but I had better things to do), mostly vegetarian and try to use locally grown, raised and sourced products as much as I can.
More about me: When I’m not cooking for my hungry husband, I enjoy the fabulous restaurant scene in Austin, TX. I’m also a wedding junkie and write about fashion.
